As part of the Madiba celebrations, the Nelson Mandela University Quantity Surveying Student Society had a successful pancake sale on 18 July 2018 (their goal was to sell 67 pancakes or more in 67 minutes).
After receiving donations from students and lecturers alike, they raised enough money to purchase 2 school uniforms for scholars of Charles Duna Primary School whose house burnt down.
The R670 donated by the Department of Quantity Surveying was also used to purchase 5 soccer balls, 2 netballs and one hand pump for them.
